Ordering by SMS, also called “texting to order” or “text to order,” involves placing an online order by sending a word or emoji to a specific number. This ordering method requires the user to first set up an account. Sometimes, the term is also used to describe an order placed via a chatbot. For example, Gillette offers “text to order” for online restocking, while Domino’s allows you to order a pizza by sending an emoji.
