Recency in marketing refers to the date of a customer’s last purchase or interaction with a company. This metric is used in RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary value) analysis to segment customers based on their behavior and value. A customer with high recency is generally considered more engaged and more likely to make another purchase soon. Recency thus allows companies to identify their most active customers and develop tailored loyalty strategies.
