Remote selling is a sales method conducted remotely, where the salesperson is not physically present with their client or prospect. This type of sale can take various forms, such as selling by telephone or videoconference, the latter also known as video selling. While the concept of remote selling is not new—telephone selling has existed for a long time and videoconferencing is less widespread—it gained prominence during the COVID-19 crisis. Indeed, social distancing measures and lockdowns often necessitated remote selling, in both the B2B and B2C sectors. It is important to note that although remote selling can be considered a form of remote selling, it differs from the traditional meaning of the term, which refers to a different practice altogether.
