Unlike quantitative studies, which focus on accepting or rejecting hypotheses, interpretative validity emphasizes the researcher&#8217;s intervention. Jean-Claude Andr\u00e9ani and Fran\u00e7oise Conchon point out that this process involves the qualitative researcher filling in the gaps in the instrument, supplementing and improving it. Indeed, the analyst plays a vital role in creating the data through a constant back-and-forth between data collection and analysis.
