Regression, on the other hand, is a mental process in which an individual seeks to return to a previous state, particularly a period in their life marked by carefree innocence and security. This nostalgia for childhood creates a sense of refuge, a protective cocoon against the challenges of modern life. In the 1990s, this phenomenon gained momentum in Western countries, giving rise to a new category called “kidults,” for whom specific products and services were offered.

Sociologist Robert Ebguy, author of “La France en culottes courtes” (France in Children’s Pants), emphasizes that regression offers an emotional immersion in what he calls the “transitional space,” present throughout life. This can manifest itself through childhood objects, childlike behaviors, or music reminiscent of the sweetness of childhood. This phenomenon is not limited to a specific age group but rather concerns the more affluent social classes. According to him, adulthood is losing its appeal; starting a family and the aging process are no longer seen as positive values. We live in a society where appearance takes precedence over everything else.

Interestingly, this return to childhood can offer psychological and emotional comfort to those who indulge in it, creating a connection with a more carefree period of their lives.

[313
post-163914","dictionnaire-dico","type-dictionnaire-dico","status-publish","hentry","categories-glossary-data-analytics-marketing-intelligence
["GET
