Generally, this pooled data comes from digital interactions, but it can sometimes include offline data as part of CRM onboarding. This concept allows participants to access information about individuals they have never interacted with, while simultaneously enriching the profiles of individuals already in their database. The data shared on this platform can be used similarly to that in a centralized database. Data pooling is often seen as an alternative to the dominance of Google and Facebook, which accumulate data within their own ecosystems. This approach is adopted by various publishers, brands, and online retailers who want to move away from publisher data for their advertising and marketing campaigns. However, this principle can raise questions about transparency regarding data collection in relation to consumers.
