According to this theory, it is actually the product’s characteristics and attributes that influence consumer satisfaction. Richard Ladwein noted that Lancaster’s model revolutionized the way we understand consumer choice. By considering the various offerings on the market as sets of attributes, consumers find themselves weighing these characteristics to make their decision. The underlying idea is that consumers will opt for the product whose attributes best meet their needs and maximize their utility. Despite the criticisms and limitations of Lancaster’s approach, this model marked a major advance in the study of consumer and buyer behavior, while retaining the principle of rationality central to classical economic theory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","categories-glossary":[310],"class_list":["post-161371","dictionnaire-dico","type-dictionnaire-dico","status-publish","hentry","categories-glossary-consumer-behavior-marketing-psychology"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/digitionary.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/dictionnaire-dico\/161371","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/digitionary.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/dictionnaire-dico"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/digitionary.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/dictionnaire-dico"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/digitionary.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=161371"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"categories-glossary","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/digitionary.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories-glossary?post=161371"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
