It is indicated by the phrase &#8220;best before.&#8221; Contrary to what one might think, exceeding the BBD does not pose a health risk to the consumer, but simply exposes the product to potential spoilage. The BBD is therefore determined at the manufacturer&#8217;s discretion, who can define it based on various assessments.
