Point-of-sale video is a promotional tool comprising a screen and a video player such as a VCR, DVD player, or videodisc player. This device allows for the continuous playback of a short video showcasing a specific product and its various uses. Initially used primarily in technical product sections, such as DIY stores, to explain their features in detail, point-of-sale video is now present in all other areas of the store. It has gradually replaced audio presentations in the form of slideshows, as well as looped 8mm videos. When connected to a computer system, it can sometimes offer interactivity via a keyboard or touchscreen.
