A sales representative, often referred to as a VRP (Vendor, or Sales Representative), is responsible for promoting and selling a company’s products or services to potential clients within a defined geographic area. To obtain official VRP status under the national interprofessional agreement of October 3, 1975, and to benefit from the associated legal and tax advantages, several criteria must be met according to the law of January 2, 1973. First, the VRP must represent one or more companies, either exclusively or as a representative working for several companies. Second, they must conduct their business exclusively and regularly, without carrying out transactions on their own behalf or engaging sub-agents. Furthermore, the VRP must have a contractual agreement with their employer, clearly defining their role, the type of sales, the products or services involved, the sales territory, and the terms of compensation.
