Telemarketing involves contacting potential customers by phone to generate leads or schedule appointments. While usually handled by a specialized call center, this activity can also be carried out independently by a salesperson. Unlike direct sales, the primary objective of telemarketing is often to qualify prospects for subsequent follow-up through another communication channel. Large-scale telemarketing campaigns are generally outsourced to specialized external providers, who are paid based on the number of appointments secured. These appointments are then managed by the company’s sales team.

Outsourcing is more common in B2C campaigns, as B2B campaigns can present challenges related to the complexity of the product or service offered. To optimize costs, many companies now prefer to entrust their telemarketing operations to experts in the field. However, this practice is often viewed negatively by recipients due to the intrusive nature of the phone calls. It is common for communications of this type to be poorly received by the target audience due to their direct commercial nature. A concrete example of a service offering in the telemarketing sector could be the proposal of a personalized and targeted lead generation solution.
