When browsing a website, you might encounter a 404 page. This occurs when the website’s server cannot find the requested page, either because it has been deleted, moved, or because there is an error in the URL after the domain name. This type of error is common, especially with long URLs or when copying and pasting. On high-traffic websites, thousands of 404 pages can be displayed daily.

The default 404 pages generated by servers are often basic and in English, requiring optimization for marketing purposes. They also offer an opportunity to add a touch of humor or a friendly connection with visitors. Examples of well-designed 404 pages include Peugeot Sport’s originality, while others, like Cdiscount.com’s, are basic and lack optimization.
