When a company decides to delegate the management of its IT systems to a third party, it can opt for a service provider who, over a predefined multi-year contract period, will handle the maintenance and development of its IT infrastructure. This form of collaboration can be considered similar to outsourcing, but with a less formal contractual approach compared to managed services. Generally, these services are provided by IT services companies (SSII).
