A location-based notification is a message sent to an app user when they are in a specific geographic area. This notification can be based on geofencing or precise geolocation using beacons, for example. Location-based push notifications are used in various marketing contexts, such as guiding users upon arrival at an airport, encouraging visits to physical stores, advertising messages, and more.
