Retail tourism refers to travel undertaken for leisure purposes, where shopping plays a more or less significant role in motivating travelers. This can include domestic trips, such as organized visits to outlet stores in Troyes, or international travel. For example, Dubai is known as a popular shopping destination, just as Paris attracts many Chinese tourists for business purposes. Although related to retail tourism, retail tourism has specific characteristics that distinguish it from the latter.
