In sports marketing, the term “catering” refers to the food and beverage services (drinks, snacks, and meals) offered within the stadium or venue hosting the event. Catering activities can constitute a significant portion of the event’s revenue, often representing between 10 and 20%. Regarding takeaway food and drinks, the main challenge in sports catering generally lies in managing crowds and peak periods, particularly before the match, at halftime, and at the end of the match. Waiting times can lead to abandonment and negatively impact the overall spectator experience in the stadium. On-site catering, on the other hand, differs and is primarily related to managing partners, suites, and VIP guests.
