Data protection practices consist of a set of technical and organizational measures designed to secure individuals’ personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, deletion, or disclosure. Examples of such measures include using strong and unique passwords for each account, implementing two-step authentication, frequently updating software, regularly backing up data, and raising employee awareness of data security. This is referred to as “data protection” or “protection of personal data.” By adopting such practices, organizations can guarantee respect for privacy and the confidentiality of personal data, in accordance with the requirements established by regulatory authorities such as the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority).
