PageRank is an algorithm developed by Larry Page, co-founder of Google, used to evaluate the relevance and ranking of web pages in search results. It is based primarily on the number and quality of external links pointing to a page, taking into account the reputation of the source websites. Although this system was once a major ranking factor, it is now just one element among many in Google’s overall algorithm. The term PageRank is a registered trademark.
