The “near pack” is an Anglo-Saxon practice that involves placing information, often promotional, close to the product. The goal is to reduce the production costs of special promotional packaging (offer on the packaging) by creating a couponing campaign. To achieve this, a small coupon dispenser is installed near the product on the shelf. In a premium near pack campaign, the free gift included with the promotional purchase must be collected from the same shelf location where the customer picked up the product. This logistical approach avoids cluttering the shelves with promotional gifts.
