Body language, also known as nonverbal communication, refers to all the gestures, attitudes, and facial expressions used by an individual to communicate. This form of communication was studied and popularized by the American anthropologist Ray Birdwhistell (1918–1994). It encompasses body movements, posture, facial expressions, and other nonverbal signals that convey messages and emotions.
