An intranet is a private computer network within an organization, based on Internet protocols, accessible only to employees and certain authorized partners. It allows for the secure sharing of information, resources, and work tools within the company, and can connect multiple remote sites via secure connections. Unlike an extranet, an intranet is reserved for internal and confidential use.
