Since 1965, the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA) has been committed to supporting innovative and ambitious digital projects. In 1973, Louis Pouzin and his Cyclades team at INRIA presented their revolutionary network, a precursor to the Internet, named Cyclades. This network inspired Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf, American engineers, to design the TCP/IP protocol, which forms the basis of the current Internet.
