iCloud, Apple Inc.’s cloud computing service, offers iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other device users the ability to store and sync various data across their devices. With 5 GB of free storage, iCloud automatically keeps a wide range of data, such as contacts, calendar, emails, notes, photos, videos, documents, and apps, ensuring seamless synchronization across all devices signed in to the same iCloud account. iCloud is easily managed through the Finder, System Settings, or your Apple ID.
Among the apps integrated with iCloud is iCloud Drive, which makes it easy to share files with other users, even without an Apple device. iCloud also includes features such as Photos, iCloud Mail, password management, Calendar, Contacts, Find My Mac, Notes, Reminders, Safari, Stocks, Home, Maps, Siri, Freeform, Numbers, Maps, Shortcuts, and Arc (Browser).
In June 2022, Apple introduced iCloud+, an enhanced version of iCloud with new features. Among these, Private Relay allows users to browse the web anonymously by masking their IP address. The Hide Private Address feature lets users create temporary email addresses to protect themselves against spam. Additionally, with Custom Email Domains, users can create personalized email addresses associated with their own domain, providing an alternative to the standard @icloud.com address.
iCloud Drive simplifies file syncing and sharing between devices and via iCloud.com. Users can choose to sync or unsync their Desktop and Documents folders, as well as approve apps that store data on iCloud Drive.
