Electronic tags using a frequency of 13.56 MHz follow a conventional standard established by ISO 15693-3 and approved by the Federal Communications Commission in the United States. Compared to low-frequency tags, they require more power but offer faster reading and a reasonable range of approximately 1 meter. Sometimes referred to as medium-frequency tags, they are distinct from ultra-high-frequency and microwave tags.
