Established in 1992 by an interministerial decree, the Interministerial Commission for the Study of Products Intended for Special Dietary Uses succeeded the Interministerial and Interprofessional Commission for the Study of Dietary and Specialty Products. Its primary mission is to issue opinions on products specifically designed to meet the nutritional needs of certain groups, whether these needs are specific physiological requirements (such as growth) or related to pathological conditions (disruptions in assimilation or metabolism). In addition, the Commission also examines issues related to nutritional claims associated with these products.
