In web analytics with Google Analytics, an advanced segment is a filtering tool that allows you to obtain specific statistical data for a particular group of visitors. Thanks to these advanced segments, it’s possible to analyze in detail visitor behavior, conversion rates, and acquisition costs specific to a precise category. For example, you can examine the behavior of new visitors, visitors coming from organic search, or international visitors.

In the Google Analytics advanced segments interface, you’ll find predefined default segments as well as the ability to create your own custom segments. The default segments offered by Google Analytics include different categories to facilitate data analysis.
