Featurettes are short films, a few minutes long, created to complement the release of a feature film, generally by reusing a scene from the film. Thanks to the internet, promotion through these videos has become more accessible, allowing for large-scale distribution at a lower cost. The decree of September 15, 2006, concerning the vocabulary of audiovisual media and communication, proposes the term “short featurette” for these productions, which are sometimes also referred to as “short clips.”
