A session corresponds to the period during which a user views one or more pages of a website without prolonged interruption, generally limited to thirty minutes. If the user interrupts their browsing for more than ten minutes, a new session is then counted. This concept makes it possible to measure visits independently of the number of unique visitors, by grouping the continuous interactions of the same user.
