An automatic or semi-automatic navigation system is designed to allow a vehicle to move autonomously by following a guide, usually a wire buried in the ground. Primarily used in warehouses, this system establishes radio frequency communication between the vehicle and the wire to transmit information such as orientation, forward/backward movement, and speed. Sometimes, the term can also refer to guidance based on a virtual guide, such as a laser beam, which operates in the same way.
