Industrial property protection, according to experts, is one of the essential facets of intellectual property protection, alongside the protection of literary and artistic works. It aims to protect technical innovations (particularly patents), aesthetic creations (designs), and distinctive signs such as trademarks. These trademarks, widely used in marketing and business strategies, include domain names. Generally, industrial property rights are obtained by filing an application (for patents, designs, or trademarks) or sometimes through continued use (for trade names or business names). In France, these applications are filed with the INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property). Large international companies that are leading patent filers are identified by the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization).
